Short notice postponement of matches rule clarified below. |
The South London & Kent Pool Alliance (or SLKPA) is an English 8 ball pool league for teams in the SE London and NW Kent area of 5 or more members. The league is contested on Thursday evenings and matches consist of 15 frames of "World Rules" pool, commencing at 8pm. Our league caters for pool players of all standards/creeds/age/sexes and has multi divisions. The SLKPA is affiliated to Greater London County Pool Association, which is under the umbrella of the English Pool Association. We have singles and pairs competitions regularly, an Interleague team, as well as a host of other facilities to help you enjoy your pool, and all these are available to our registered players. Our aim is to be the number one pool league in this area.

The SLKPA Reserve League
The concept of the idea is to enable more players/teams to play/sample world rules whilst not committing to playing a full SLKPA season.
Payment of entry fees or any other monies due to the SLKPA can be made to our treasurer.

Please make cheques/postal orders payable to "South London & Kent Pool Alliance".
Payments can be made this way to avoid needless trips to league meetings.
A4 POSTER
The easiest
way to form a team is to print the A4 poster above and put it up on your pub/club wall, along with a list for players to put their names up with their contact details and hey presto a team is formed.
Print this poster off and pass onto anyone interested.
The SLKPA welcomes any new players or teams who wish to participate. A mini reserve/experimental league has been set up with teams of 3 or more for any team wishing to learn "World Rules", or who would like to sample the league without committing to a full season to see if it appeals at a reduced entry fee. Full support from the league committee is provided, so that new teams can grasp the rules and settle into the league smoothly. For more information contact the League Secretary.

NOTICES
Next Committee League Meeting 7pm Sunday 7th February 2010 @ Woolwich Riley's.
Teams should ensure all completed result sheets to date are submitted on or by this date. Failure to do so results in a penalty point deducted for every missing sheet.
GENERAL
Short notice postponement of matches is generally not allowed in the SLKPA. However very ocassionally events lead to the need for postponements, such as acts of god, power cuts, accidents etc. If your team feels that it needs a match postponed within the mandatory 28 days notice that you need to give, then your first point of contact should be your Divisional Secretary. He will make the decision as to whether your match should be postponed or he may instruct your team to attend the match depending on the reason for the postponement. No postponements will be entertained until they are cleared with your Divisional Secretary first. Walkovers will be granted to the non offending team if teams fail to uphold this procedure.
Generally the stopwatch is not used during SLKPA league matches, however if play is slow or failing behind schedule then it may be used under the guidelines below.
The use of a stopwatch at matches is permitted as long as one team captain wishes to use it then the other team must oblige. The stopwatch can be only requested by a captain, and can be enforced prior to any frame and withdrawn after any frame during a match.
Players have 1 minute to strike the cue ball after the balls have come to rest from the previous shot, with a warning given after 30 seconds. Failure incurs a foul.
Refer to Rule I of world rules. If your team has a minor playing, please contact the venue before hand if you are playing away to confirm they are allowed on the premises.
NEW FOR 2009-10
The league will be introducing a new singles knock out competition and a fax to email service.
